What is Short Term Accommodation
Short Term Accommodation (STA) funding is for support and accommodation for a short time away from your usual home. It covers the cost of your care while away from your home for up to 14 days at a time.
Respite can be used for yourself and your carer or for your family who may need a short-stay holiday while you are cared for in the family home. As well, it can be used when your usual carers aren’t available or for you to trial independent living before venturing out on your own permanently.
Things To Do
Situated on the lovely Gold Coast, you will be minutes away from beaches, theme parks and lots of places in between for kids to have fun. Shopping options are aplenty with multiple major shopping precincts situated across the coast.

HOW TO ADD IT TO YOUR PLAN?
WHAT IS IT?
You may not need to add funding for short term accommodation into your plan. You can choose to use your Core budget on supports like STA if it helps you pursue your goals.
If your circumstances change and you need short term accommodation, you can ask for a plan reassessment (review) to ensure there is allocated funding in your plan. NDIS can include additional funding to your plan to cover STA if it’s reasonable and necessary.
To learn more about STA, ask your Support Coordinator, LAC, or planner at your next planning meeting.
